Living a Kingdom Revolution

It is hard to imagine that for thousands of years men saw the effect of electricity through lightning but never knew that they could harness electricity for their own use. Men could easily see that birds were heavier than air but were able to fly with ease. Yet for some reason, man never was able to see himself flying. I can understand this being the case for a few generations, but for thousands of years?

Now that these laws have been discovered, electricity and flying have literally changed the way we live. In the same way, the Kingdom of heaven has been made available to men since Jesus made our access to it legal. Yet for most people, they read the stories of Jesus performing miracles as if from the outside looking in. They acknowledge that the events happened, but they never see themselves in the same picture. They reason that’s because it was Jesus, and of course He could do that. What they fail to understand is that the Kingdom was given to us. In essence, Jesus said that the same things we see Him doing, we would do as well.

You will hear me talk a lot about a Kingdom revolution, or a Now Revolution as we call our hosted conference event. We have heard so many tremendous stories of people’s lives being changed by understanding that the Kingdom is now available to them. The Now Revolution Conference that Faith Life Now hosts helping people understand the laws that govern the Kingdom of God and how to apply them to their everyday life. As we gear up for our next conference in Dallas, Texas June 19-21, I am excited about people’s lives being changed by these principles.

The key to remember is that the Kingdom of heaven, like any Kingdom, operates by law—in this case, spiritual law. You may ask, why was one person healed and someone else not? Most believers just assume that God arbitrarily choose to move in that situation. Well, if that were the case then God would be a respecter of persons, and the Word of God clearly states that’s not the case. So there has to be another reason…and there is! I always tell my church to be a spiritual scientist as they look at the Word of God and the stories it contains. Ask why something did or did not happen. In this way, you can begin to identify the laws and principles of the Kingdom of God that you can use wherever and whenever you need to.

Remember, the mystery as to why a bird flies is not a mystery any longer. As you let the Holy Spirit guide you and teach you the Kingdom laws, you will discover that you can tap into them whenever you need to. That is why 2 Peter 1:3 says that God has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Godliness means living righteously, what God would call right.
