Dreams of Financial Freedom
Financial freedom is a foreign concept to most people. I know it was to me and my wife during our first ten years of marriage. We simply couldn’t see the way out. If you are like most people in America, you are probably in debt to some degree. And you may be asking the question, “How do I gain financial freedom?” Or maybe you are asking an even deeper question, “How do I live the life I have always wanted?” Many people work at jobs they hate, live in houses they can’t afford, wishing they could just be free to follow their dreams. But they can’t because interest payments and their American lifestyle have them trapped.
Poverty kills dreams. You can’t dream if you’re a slave to a debt payment. You can never find and pursue your destiny until you get the money thing fixed. When you have no financial options, you have no control over your future because all of your time is spent working for the bank in exchange for a roof over your head and food to keep you alive so you can work for them one more day.
But what about God’s dreams for your future? What about the fact that God put you on earth for a reason? You know it wasn’t to work for a mortgage payment all of your life. God gave you a voice, a unique calling to a specific area for this point in history. It saddens me to think that many Christians who are willing to do many things for God are held back by lack of money.
So how can we be free? As Drenda and I discovered, your answer lies in the mirror. We were all born into a fallen world that teaches us to be survivalists, always scrounging for provision. But when we become children of God, we belong to a different Kingdom with a new set of governing laws. God set us free from the slave laws of this sinful earth-cursed system when Jesus fulfilled the law on the cross. So why are we still living as slaves?
You can get the slave out of slavery, but it’s more difficult to get the slavery mindset out of the slave. As a Christ follower, it is vital that you renew your mind to God’s Kingdom laws and get rid of the way you’ve always thought about yourself, your money and your potential. Take the lid off and ask yourself, “What would I do if I knew I could not fail?” Start asking God for small steps you can take toward your big future.
In a time when unemployment is rising and many are security conscious, I want to encourage you to be God conscious and find real security in taking the risk of stepping out in faith to do the impossible. It all starts one step at a time. God gave me an idea for business twenty years ago, and today that business enables me to sow generously into God’s Kingdom, provide for my family, give to those in need, give my salary back to the church I pastor, and remain completely debt free. Now, it took work, a no-quitting attitude and many years of learning to get my businesses to where they are today, but let me tell you, it was worth it!
So today, find a scripture you can hold on to concerning your good future and think about it all day. Start thanking God for plans, ideas and concepts that you can implement to capture wealth. When you receive direction from the Holy Spirit, take action! Start taking steps toward the life you’ve always wanted, full of possibility, freedom and hope. There’s no day like today to start on the road to your dreams!
what would I do if I knew I couldn't fail?
I would be doing what I am doing and succeeding instead of failing! Today I find myself struggling to give up a career I love in favor of bringing money into our accounts now. So what is it that I should be doing since I cannot do what I would do if I knew I couldn't fail? How do I find out what it is that God would have me do and how do I know he is receiving my prayers to find the answer to this question? I have had no income for the last two months and can no longer hold onto this dream career and can no longer find enjoyment in it. I had to tell a partner today that I can not continue in plans for starting our own RE investment busines together until I get this money thing fixed, and I am asking my few creditors to be patient with me as I know the money will come. How do I clear my head of concern and worry and stay plugged into God's Kingdom. I know I am worth more than 2 or 5 sparrows but right now I feel as the worm that these sparrows eat!Thankful for God's Financial Revolution!
Hello Pastor Gary and Miss Drenda, Pastor Gary I am so grateful that I stumbled upon the Sid Roth program about a year ago. You were the featured guest. I was sitting at my computer, and happened to skim the tv channels, where I came across the Sid Roth show. He was highlighting your life story and thus how your teaching series, financial revolution, financial revelation came about. I ordered that CD teaching and my thinking with regards to giving to God's work, has totally been, REVOLUTIONALIZED. Pastor, prior to that show I had heard it all, literally, about giving our money to God, and how God wanted his people to prosper. I heard the "money cometh" message, "money with a mission", "give and it will be given to you" give to your man or woman of God. Give, give, give. Then we were told you'll be blessed going out and blessed coming in, and we all shouted glory, glory, glory!!! Afterwards, we sat down and waited for the blessing(s) to show up. Still today I hear so many ministers teaching how God wants to bless us financially. But, they fail to mention, we have a part to play, we have to put our hand to something, in order for God to have something to bless. Most ministers lead us to believe God is just going to pour out blessings upon us and we don't have any part to play in it. I always felt there was a missing ingredient in most prosperity messages, and after I heard your financial revolution CD's, I knew what it was. What I got was, our giving to God is only the begining. It allows us to first, honor God, then our giving allows us to CHANGE kingdom or dominions over our money, thus God now has a legal right to move in and on our behalf. But we still have to seek him for wisdom on where the pearls are, so to speak, after we give. Now when I hear messages on giving, it is hard to sit there and not want to holler out, hey people do you really realize what is happening here when you give. I want to tell them get off your butt and put your hand to something, so God can have something to bless. Also, we christians also need to learn how to better handle the finances we presently our stewarding over, meaning getting out of debt and living within our means. I truly hope your financial revolution teaching will get out to more in the body of Christ. Our church's and ministers really need to hear it. Like I said it is the missing ingredient in the whole prosperity, give and it will be given unto you, message in our churches today. That is just my humble opinion, of course. I greatly appreciate your words of wisdom, exhortation and encouragement, which I receive wholeheartedly and will heed. I am sure this blog will be a blessing to each one who reads, receives and heeds your wise counsel. I have found that financial lack is not only a hindrance to sowing generously into God's Kingdom, it is also a hindrance to serving in one's local church and this is my present experience, which used to make me feel helpless, frustrated and angry. Through prayer, faith and scriptural confessions, I have been able to conquer the giants that were trying to overwhelm in my promised land. I must continue to guard my heart and keep my mind on the Lord so I will be in perfect peace regardless of the situation. I am seeking the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and thanking God now for the things I need that would allow me to fully participate in church ministry activities as well as to sow into God's Kingdom by giving first to my church and then to ministries such as yours. You said things that fit my current profile, which I would like to change. The key to my change and experiencing the reality of financial freedom for my life and family is found in the last paragraph of your blog. Today, I must find a scripture I can hold on to concerning my good future and think about it all day. I must start thanking God for plans, ideas and concepts that I can implement to capture wealth. When I receive direction from the Holy Spirit, I must be quick to take action! I must start taking steps toward the life I’ve always wanted, full of possibility, freedom and hope. There’s no day like today to start on the road to my dreams! May God continue to grant abundant blessings to you, Drenda and your family as you help others find financial freedom and live victoriously in the Kingdom of God. Sincerely in Christ, Victoria Sellers Atlanta, GA
