Check Out the Benefit Bank
The Headlines read “Unclaimed Aid in Ohio: $1.5 Billion A Year.”  In a recent addition of The Columbus Dispatch, went on to say, “Low and moderate income families missing out on $1.5 billion a year in government benefits each year turned off by exhaustive paperwork, confusing terminology or ling lines.”  The Benefit Bank is a free web-based program that helps people apply for refunds, child care subsidies, rent rebates, medical aid, food stamps and home energy assistance.  It also helps people file returns, register to vote and gain access to many other government programs.  The $1.5 billion of unclaimed aid was just for Ohio.  Nationally it’s multiplied billions.  People who used the Benefit Bank where it now operates in eight states found they were able to obtain an average of $6,450 in increased benefits per client.  Free software from the Benefit Bank helps families apply and understand these programs on line.
