The MAGIC of Ninety-Day Cycles

Being self-employed has its ups and its downs, but I have found a way to ensure more up than down. It’s called the ninety-day cycle. Business has momentum, and we’ve discovered that you can do just about anything for ninety days. Sure, everyone wants to be successful; but you must realize that distractions, emotions and even success are your future’s enemies. Success can become an enemy in the sense that, once you achieve it, it may cause you to want to relax and enjoy a break that can sabotage your progress. Like pushing a giant boulder up a hill, if you stop pushing, you are pushed backwards and must start all over. By committing to a ninety-day push, you will produce enough forward momentum to change your business. It is amazing what can be accomplished in this time frame when you have a clear, written vision that your family can get behind and support you in. First, set your goal for the next ninety days. Secondly, just get out there and consistently do it without looking back.

The key to the ninety-day cycle is to not look at results until the ninety days is up. Do not be concerned about what you were paid or the production you did or how close you are to your goal. When you’re running a marathon, it’s better to not know how many more miles you have to go. FOCUS ONLY ON ACTIVITY! Focus on multiplying your efforts for ninety days. Do not rest until the cycle is over, and you may surprise yourself by exceeding your goal! Your momentum will produce growth, excitement and more forward motion.

The ninety-day cycle has its greatest impact on your vision. It will cause you to   break barriers of activity and income, and then you can never go back to the inactivity and small thinking you had before. Confidence will overshadow self-doubt. Your future will seem bright as you see before your eyes the unlimited possibilities and your future forming.

DANGER: Once your movement toward your goals has increased and income is coming in, there is a natural tendency to want to relax. After all, you have been working hard lately, and you feel you deserve a break.  Don’t do it. You will not be at that place yet. After the first ninety-day push is over, take five days off, then go for another ninety days. At the end of the next cycle, take a little bit more time off. Work in intense cycles with rewards at the end if you make your goal. Some have found that the ninety-day cycle is too long and have set thirty or forty-five-day cycles with shorter breaks at the end. The principles are the same, so get out there and change your future in ninety days! Anything is possible.
